Massaki
Hatta
Japan-native Masaaki Hatta has made notable contributions to the
sport of wrestling since he arrived in America. He was a three-time
All-American for Oklahoma State University, winning the NCAA championship
in 1962. That same year was awarded a silver medal in the World Freestyle
Championship. Hatta was also an AAU All-American on numerous occasions
and won the prestigious Midlands Championship twice.
For the past several decades, takedown artist Hatta coached and
trained aspiring wrestlers in Hazel Park, Michigan. Hatta’s
coaching tactics have produced a number of champion athletes, including
Bill Davids, Steve Fraser, Carey VanderHagen, Tom Davis, John Craig
and most recently Bob Losey. Coach Hatta offers individual coaching
in the three wrestling styles: Collegiate, Greco-Roman, and Freestyle.
